This Week at the Market
The weather has been all over the place this spring! From 84 to 30s with huge wind gusts and torrential rain – the usual for spring in GA! Not fun for planting however! I have held off on getting tomato plants in the ground thank goodness. I am hopeful that this week I can begin to get them planted as they’re outgrowing all their pots again. I will begin putting some out for sale at the stand later today.
Have a great week!

Easter Week
We’re going to begin planting this week! I’ve already got the peas, and beans in the ground, and more to follow. The tomato plants are looking great and I’ll have some of those for sale this week. I will update a few varieties online tomorrow if you’d like to pre-order. Otherwise, I’ll have them in the farmstand.
This is a busy week for us! My granddaughter turns one and we’ll be having a big party for her. I’ll be baking a special cake and doing some of the food for the party. So, between that and Easter dinner, I will not be able to do the usual full menu this week. We do have our Easter Lamb Cake available though!
Have a blessed week,

Good morning! Things are looking greener here at the farm, and I’m itching to plant! All the seedlings in the greenhouse are getting big and healthy and I’m going to start planting the heartier ones like peas, beans, broccoli, and the greens. I have great success with the tomatoes and may have overdone it a bit so I’ll be selling extra plants in a week or two.
Have a great week!

Happy Spring!!!
Today marks the vernal equinox – SPRING! Now that it is official, I am really hoping it warms up! We still follow the rule of no planting before Easter no matter how tempting it is! Good thing because these freezing nights have been harsh!
The greenhouse is thriving, and we have trays of microgreens ready to harvest. They are a mix of veggie seeds and super nutritious, and a crunchy addition to eggs, sandwiches, or anywhere you want to add a little zest. There’s also a couple mini bags of arugula available.
We’ve added the Easter Lamb Cake for you to see. You can either preorder now or wait until the week before Easter. They will be for pickup on the usual Saturday 4/8. If you need an earlier pickup in the week, I would suggest preordering so I can plan on the earlier orders.
Have a great week!

Back to the chilly temps this week! UGH! I’m just praying we don’t get the hard freeze they’re predicting! The fruit trees and blueberry bushes may not produce this year if they lose all those fruit buds.
At least there are some beautiful sunny skies coming so we can get out and enjoy that :)
Many of you ordered Ga Victory Gardens Pickled Veggies last week. Michael, their creator, would appreciate some feedback! We all love reviews, so drop one on our Facebook page or leave one in the comments of your order.
We have a few St Patrick’s Day items this week. Since it falls on a Friday, let me know if you would like to pick up on Friday (after 3pm).
We will be doing the Easter Lamb Cakes again this year. Next week I will add them to the market for pre-orders.
Have a great week!

Georgia Victory Garden Goodness!!!
Our friends from Georgia Victory Gardens have released their stock of assorted pickled veggie flavors to the market!!!
Get ‘em while the gettin’s good!!
Good Spring Morning!
It feels like spring, wonderful spring is in the air!!! And yes, here in our area that means TONS of pollen! I got in my truck this morning and can see the coating already. That means our spring allergies are also feeling it! I’ve got elderberry syrup and raw wildflower honey to help with that!
Georgia Victory Gardens will have their pickled veggies listed later on so check those out! I taste tested them all and I know you will like them as much as I did. The smoked one is my personal fave!
The farm stand is officially open for the rest of the year again. I will continue to have order pick ups from the porch as we have grown a lot this year! Once you pick up your order, you can either put payment in your cooler or up at the cash box in the stand when you head out and shop the table.
Thank you for continuing to return containers and jars. If you have any of the Publix/ Kroger wine bags, I love these for our soup orders!
Thank you for supporting our Micro Farm Market! Have a great week!

The earth is coming alive! We have so much blooming here on the farm – Bradford pear trees, peach, and plum trees. It is so beautiful! All the seedlings are looking great in the greenhouse – so excited for a prosperous veggie and flower year!
The only downside…. allergies! All this pollen makes for runny noses and painful sinuses. I try to drink lots of tea and honey (we’ll have some in the stand on Saturday!) to help that.
Have you tried McKinnon’s Cocktails yet? I love a good Bloody Mary so I’ve some on sale this week for you to try them! They are not only made locally, but in our very own neighborhood down the street!!!! Yum!
Have a great week!

Are you getting a bit tempted to think SPRING is here? Me too! I’m feeling so energized by this warm weather, sunshine, spring bulbs popping up through the soil and singing birds! I love this time of year!
Now that we’re through the doldrums of winter, I am going back to our regular farm fresh recipes. I hope you enjoyed a little variation with our culinary trip around the world!
This weekend I met with a wonderful guy that has a bright future in the Atlanta area. He has a business based in Roswell. While he concentrates on gardening, he is launching a line of pickled veggies that we are going to carry on the market! Here’s a little about Michael and his team:
“Georgia Victory Gardens can help you plan, construct, and service your vegetable garden providing quality seedlings, seeds and their enriching history.”

Some more news…. We have had our breads at Cherokee Market for the past 13 years (yes, that’s right!), and they will now be carrying our whole line of baked goods, fruits, herbs and veggies this year!
The farm stand will be opening soon as well!
Have a great week!

Good morning! This week we are featuring Greek recipes. Next week will be our last regional based menu and we will celebrate Mardi Gras! After that we will resume our usual variations of dishes.
The chickens and ducks are laying better again, but there is a high demand. I will try to keep them reserved for the online market and then put the rest in the stand.
As a reminder, pick up is on Saturday from the porch right now until I put the tent back up. If you plan to pick up after 4pm or need to wait until Sunday, please let me know ahead of time. I have had several late pick ups and no shows lately and I want to make sure you get your food in the freshest state possible!! So if you regularly need late afternoon or Sunday, that is no problem!
Have a great week everyone!
