This Week at the Market

Feel that crisp fall air? Time for stews, soups, roasts, spiced baked goods, and pumpkin everything! I’ve added our Pumpkin Roll from previous years, and Maple Walnut Scones – big fall hits! We’re doing 3 soups each week now – one of which is PUMPKIN!
Hens are still slow, but I’ve upped their protein intake to get them back to producing a bit more.
If you have a chance, please let me know if you would like to see a particular item offered. I am considering offering a selection of organic baby food. My granddaughter has begun eating it and I will be making her some wanted to gauge interest in the market, too.
My daughter’s wedding was beautiful and all went perfectly. We are all trying to settle down into a new “normal” going forward. Thanks again for everyone’s continued prayers for our family as we are still navigating through our loss as well.

Blessings to you all!

This Week at the Market

Good morning! We are off to a crisp fall already. I’m ready for fires and hot apple cider!

This week is a limited offering because we are off to my daughter’s wedding in Greenville, GA this weekend. Looking forward to a joyous occasion!!

Eggs will be in short supply for a while because the hens have decided they are not crazy about the crisp air… with 50+ hens and ducks I am only getting 6 eggs each day!!! Slackers!

Next week we will be back with 3 soups every week, some warm entrees, fall salads, pumpkin roll cakes, and more.

Thanks for all your container and jar returns – I will update the credits, but if I miss yours just remind me.

The stand remains open and is stocked with white pumpkins, minis, Ellijay apples, and still some of the summer harvest. Of course, jams, honey, soaps, tea & coffee, garlic are all there as well.

Thanks for supporting our farm market!

Market Open

Good morning! We are back to work, a little slower, but back!
I am sad to share the news of our recent closure. My husband had been battling a disease and this year it started to worsen. Several weeks ago we began hospice care. He passed, which was devastating to say the least. We have taken time to be with family and friends to grieve. To those of you that knew and reached out – thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I have never felt such love and support from those around me. While I will never completely heal, I am beginning to move forward and working on the farm and in the kitchen keeps joy in my life. I am happy to open again to share that with you. I will be offering a smaller amount of items for the next few weeks as my daughter will be getting married on the weekend of the 8th. Afterwards, I will be in full holiday mode!!!
Thanks again for your patience and kindness during this time.

We are back this week to bring you some new items. Lots of tomatoes means sauce! Look for our fresh Roasted Garlic Tomato Basil Sauce in jars or on the Zucchini Rolls we have listed. We are just about done with the fig harvest so there is plenty of Fig Jam now listed. If we can get any more fresh bags by Saturday they will be in the stand.
I was able to get some planting done this weekend. Turnips, beets, rutabaga, carrots, several varieties of kale, swiss chard, collards and several varieties of lettuces were planted for fall harvest. I will be adding more squash, cucumber, green onions, peas, beans, and broccoli.

Thank you all for the well wishes this week. My husband is home and trying to recover. It will be a long road and your continued prayers are really appreciated at this time.

This Week at the Market

If you’re new to the market – WELCOME! I’ve seen a lot of new faces at the farmstand with the figs bringing in many looking for farm fresh food!

This week we are planting a lot of seeds for fall. Swiss Chard, kale, lettuces, beets, turnips and more. We operate year round – so keep checking in if you don’t see what you like. We also can take requests so if there’s a veggie or green that you’ve wanted to try, we can plant it!

Have a great week!

This week we’re getting some more planted for fall crops. We like to keep a steady flow to eat from the garden! I got a welcome surprise yesterday – FIGS! I wasn’t expecting them to ripen yet, but here they are! I won’t get more than a pound or two daily for another week when they are in high gear, but will put out what I have in the stand. I do have a signup for anyone to reserve ahead of time here:

Good morning! We are going to be busy this week with my daughter’s wedding planning as well as my youngest going back to school next week. There will be a limited offering of prepared foods as a result of that. We still have the farm stand loaded and open every day so stop by anytime! Tomatoes have finally started to ripen so the will go out as soon as they do! We have a bounty of cherry varieties this year. The little red cherries are great whole in salads, the larger red ones can be cut in half and grilled or sauteed with veggies, and the the champagne bubbles are great to just pop in your mouth to snack on!
We also welcome CoffeeAM to the market. We are carrying one for now, and will add more as requested. Check them out online at coffeam.com. I’ve added a sample size to try them before you buy a larger bag.

Have a great week!

Reminder – the market closes tonight for orders this week.
We added AB Farms garlic to the market. It is so much better than grocery store variety! Try some this week and you’ll see!
