Happy Fall!

It’s officially fall! In my book, that means Merry Happy Hallowthanksmas! LOL! It’s a blur from here on out!! I love this time of year and it shows in the farmstand. If you don’t place an order, stop by anytime for some Ellijay apples, fresh figs from the cooler, any of our canned items, eggs, late season veggies, our farm grown white pumpkins and glass gem corn cob décor, Ellijay gourds and pumpkins will be restocked again this week. Also, we have met a wonderful bee keeper not far from the farm that has an exquisite brand of honey. She is a true artist in her craft and produces a wonderful floral honey we will be getting later this week. Watch for it in the stand and in next week’s market.
Vendor spotlight:
If you’re working in the yard and manage a scratch – try Joanne’s Healing Salve! Springwood Cashmere Farm makes an Herbal Healing Salve made by harvesting fresh herbs, dehydrating them and then extracting the medicinal compounds inside the herbs by saturating them in Avocado Oil. You need only a small amount so this .75 Fl. oz. jar will last a very long time. Her family has been using this salve for a few weeks now, and we’re honestly pretty shocked to see that it works far better on cuts and scratches and they heal much more quickly than when we were using bacitracin.

If you get a chance to recommend us – it is always appreciated!

Loving this rain for our new seedlings and greens, but looking forward to the end of the week when we get some cooler and sunny weather!!!! When you pick up on Saturday we should have our full pumpkin patch set up for photo ops with the munchkins.
The figs are coming in plentiful so we’ve got jams and fresh fig products. Look for other unique canned fig items in the stand like Fig Chutney, Drunkin’ Figs, and Amaretto Figs.
The lettuce greens are going crazy so they’ll be on the market list from now on.
Peas and beans are still a few weeks.

Thanks for supporting our farm!

I am so looking forward to sweaters and fall leaves – we’re almost there! I have brought out all the pumpkin flavors and moving towards fall cooking.
We’ve got fall plantings in the ground and they are already sprouting. We’ll have lot of greens, radishes, peas, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, beans, sweet potatoes and more coming!
Our white pumpkins are in the stand, as well as Ellijay apples for pick up anytime. We have lots more canned items coming soon as well.

Remember we are always looking for egg cartons – specifically the dozen size. Also, return those jars, lids and bands and other containers for a credit on your next order!!!!

Thank you for supporting our farm,

Looks like we’re in for a storm tomorrow! We will have the stand closed up, but will open as soon as it passes. I’m really looking forward to the good soaking for the garden so we can get things growing again for the fall crops.
Have a great week!

I am about to start a rain dance here at the farm – we need rain!!! By this time last year we were drowning in figs. Without rain, they haven’t grown more than the size of green grapes in the last few weeks! That takes a toll on the rest of the garden too. The leaves are looking wilted in the hot sun. So…. we are in a veggie slump. I have some tomatoes, but new ones haven’t been growing quickly behind what has been picked, Hopefully, we will get a drenching this week to help it along.
New this week is our baby arugula which we planted weeks ago.
Have a great week and keep those container returns coming – thank you!

The kids are back to school – yay! If you need help with crazy busy dinners for your family, I will be offering some frozen meals for additional pickup days coming in September. Perfect for those nights when you have to be at many places for practices, picking up or dropping off your kids all over the county LOL! We’ll start with garden lasagna, burritos, and frittata. If you have any requests – let me know.
Tomatoes are coming in nicely. but I will keep them in the stand for you to choose upon pickup instead of preorders.
I hope you enjoy the market – we sure appreciate you!!!

Thanks,
